Dr. Zeng graduated from Hunan Medical University in China in 1982. He then moved to the United States and did his GI research fellowship with Drs. John Walsh and George Sachs in the Center for Ulcer Research and Education/Digestive Diseases Research Center, UCLA. His major research interests were gastric acid secretion, neuroendocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract and H. pylori infection. He orally presented his work many times at Digestive Disease Week and other international Gastroenterology meetings. He also published many original scientific papers, reviews and book chapters. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University Medical School at El Paso, which was followed by a clinical Gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore. Dr. Zeng's clinical interests include gastric acid secretion related disorders (GERD and peptic ulcer), GI inflammatory diseases (H. pylori infection, bacterial overgrowth, celiac disease and IBD) and GI pre-malignant conditions (Barrett's, dysplasia and colon cancer screening). Dr. Zeng is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In his spare time, Dr. Zeng enjoys traveling, classical music and playing volleyball.
