Betty J. White, MN, ARNP

Betty White, ARNP graduated from nursing school at Highline Community College. As an RN, she worked in many different areas such as labor and delivery, long-term care and intensive care. She joined Southlake Clinic (formally Valley Internal Medicine) and started her career in gastroenterology. While working full-time, she attended night classes at University of Washington-Tacoma and received her BSN. She continued to work as an endoscopy nurse for Valley Medical Center and Southlake Clinic for the next three years assisting with outpatient exams as well as emergent procedures. She completed her Master of Nursing degree at the University of Washington-Seattle. She has been working as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in gastroenterology in Tacoma since March 2004. Ms. White is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and ARNP's United of Washington State. Her interests include women's health, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She has developed educational pamphlets, and spoken at the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation meetings for patient and nursing staff. Ms. White has raised money for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and volunteered on the medical team in the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. She also enjoys cooking and gardening at her home in Maple Valley.
