Licensed Practical Nurse

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  2. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Washington
  3. Current CPR certification.
  4. Previous experience in medical/surgical nursing or clinical setting preferred.
  5. Certification in Gastroenterology Nursing preferred.
  6. ACLS certification completed within 6 months of hire date.

General Description:

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care in the Endoscopy Unit and the Medical Office setting, using sound judgement and cognitive abilities to make patient care decisions based on scientific nursing knowledge consistent with the needs of the patient. The LPN works as a team member under direct supervision and taking direction from a RN. This position requires the provision of highly skilled and specialized functions, for patients receiving gastroenterology care and procedures. Responsibilities are performed in a manner that demonstrates support of Digestive Health Specialists goals and objectives and are in compliance with the policies and procedures of the organization. The Licensed Practical Nurse functions within the scope of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Washington, SGNA Standards of Practice, the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses' Code for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses and the Nursing Practice Standards for the Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses.
