It is our goal to assist you, the patient, with inflammatory bowel disease, with the resources available to achieve a desired quality of life. Our dedicated medical staff is very knowledgeable in the area of inflammatory bowel disease. We have gathered information on treatment, nutrition and other health issues that may arise during your disease process.
Prior to your first infusion there may be tests required by your gastroenterologist. If you have had tuberculosis, lived with a family member that has had tuberculosis, or if you have had Hepatitis B, any form of heart disease, or known psoriasis or a fungal infection you should notify your provider.
The Remicade or infliximab infusion requires an IV to be placed in your arm. This is accomplished easier if you are well hydrated; drinking 4-6 glasses of water a day 1-2 days prior to coming for your infusion.
It is important to inform us if there are any changes to your health or if you have recently started any new medications; as this may interfere with your treatment.
You must inform us of any change in insurance 72 hrs prior to your infusion. Please call 253-503-2552 or 253-503-2547. There are assistance programs available thru the pharmaceutical companies that may help with co-pays and out of pocket expense.
We will schedule your next infusion at the time you are in our office. Please bring you calendar to all appointments. If you have to reschedule please call 253-503-2552 or 253-503-2547.
If you have any concerns regarding a possible side effect or medication reaction, please call one of our triage nurses available from 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday at the following numbers:
253-272-5127 (Tacoma)
253-838-9839 (Federal Way)
253-841-3933 (Puyallup)
253-858-0112 ( Gig Harbor)
If you have concerns after these times a physician on call can be reached through the same number.
We would like to make this a pleasant experience. We have cable television available and there are video hookups if you would like to bring a DVD player.
Please feel free to bring food or drink and let us know if you have other needs or accommodations to make your infusion experience a pleasant one.
Thank you
